Popular Ibadan Mogaji, Chief Abass Oloko who is also a stakeholder in Oyo PDP has replied the Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Akinade Ismail Fijabi on his comment that whoever Gov Seyi Makinde selects as the next governor will be endorsed by the PDP and wholeheartedly supported by the entire Ibadan and Oyo State without blemish, adding that Chief Fijabi cannot be speaking for the PDP, a party that he is not a member.
Chief Abass Oloko made this statement during a live interview on Facebook conducted by famous newscaster and ace broadcaster, Mr Ajibola Akinyefa, where he described Chief Akinade Fijabi as a controversial figure who is always looking to be noticed and seen wherever he is.
In the interview, Mogaji Oloko narrated how he started politics as a protege of Alaafin Molete, Chief Lamidi Adedibu with the likes of Hazeem Gbolarumi, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and others, but stated emphatically that Oloye Fijabi was not yet into active politics at that time.
“Chief Akinade Fijabi cannot make decisions on behalf of our party stakeholders. Politics is about consultation and Gov Seyi Makinde is not the sole decision maker for the party in Oyo State. There has to be due consultation with collective actions and responsibilities of all stakeholders before a candidate can be adopted by the party. So Baba Fijabi is only speaking as a friend of Gov Seyi Makinde and not as a member of the PDP.
When quizzed about his relationship with the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and his ambition to be the next governor of Oyo State “Chief Adelabu is a good man with a rare personality and Omoluabi ethos. He is not frugal as acclaimed. He has been kind to me in different ways unimaginable. We met since his time as the deputy governor of CBN where he was a benefactor for lots of Ibadan and Oyo State Indigenes in getting employed at the CBN.
“Oyo State has had other Ministers in the past who did not perform optimally as Chief Adelabu. It was during his time that Nigerians are well knowledgeable about Band A, B, C, D and E. He was also among the few political leaders who did well with the federal government palliatives, while others were storing up their fair share for personal gains, Chief Adelabu was busy distributing the rice to the public. He has also erected solar street light at Baba Arisekola’s home, surrounding streets across Ibadan as well as other towns and villages across Iseyin, Oyo township, Orile Igbon, Ogbomoso and Saki communities.
Chief Abass Oloko also maintained that Gov Seyi Makinde is still party leader in Oyo State, he also highlighted the efforts of the governor by paying salaries on time, continued road infrastructures from the Ajimobi led regime and many others.
