Akinsanya Kure Slams Killing of WAEC Student at Alakia, Calls for Investigation, Punishment of Police Officer

House of representative aspirant from Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency, Hon Oluwasegun Akinsanya Kure has criticised harshly the fatal shooting incident that resulted to the untimely death of a student going for his WAEC papers around Alakia area of Ibadan.

Hon Akinsanya Kure made this statement on Tuesday after a young student was allegedly hit and killed by stray bullet from the gun of a policeman while sitting in a car with his father, while the policeman attempted to shoot.

“This is really a sad day in our constituency, it brings emotional bitterness on hearing the shooting incident and resulting death of a secondary school student allegedly shot by a policeman on his way to writing his WAEC papers around Gbagi/Alakia axis of Egbeda local government.

“Quite sadly, this incident further puts a dent and raises eyebrows on the integrity of our security apparatus and deficiencies of our police force, where those in charge of our collective security system and protecting lives of the citizenry are now those who are even caught in the web of bringing civil unrest to our people and children.” Akinsanya stated.

“In this light, I join hands to call on all concerned security agencies to dig deeply into the immediate and remote cause of this terrible incident and that all necessary penalties and stringent measures be accorded to the policeman involved in this unfortunate crisis.” he added

“I’m also using this medium to also extend my heartfelt sympathy to the beloved family and colleagues of the young boy. It’s really a heartbreaking incident as no parent ever envisages such untimely death for their ward, I feel their pains in this trying time and I also pray that the Almighty God grant the entire family the strength to bear the huge loss and that such a terrible incident never occur in the family and constituency again.” Akinsanya concluded.
