Alayande Varsity VC to Alumni Fund Beneficiaries: You Have Made Us Proud, Keep the Flag Flying

… Lauds Kola Amole-led-Alumni Association for the Initiative

The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan on Thursday, charged recipients of the EAUED Alumni Scholarship Fund to keep the flag flying in their academic pursuits in the University. He stated this during the presentation of the #1.5 Million EAUED Alumni Association Scholarship Fund to 10 students who are beneficiaries of the Fund.

Speaking during the luncheon organised in honour of the students, the renowned Economist states, “we are here today as a Management to celebrate excellence, as we are writing history for ten (10) of our students who have carved a niche for themselves academically and are today being rewarded by the EAUED Alumni National Association. I am particularly delighted to congratulate you as the 1st set of beneficiaries, and I urge you to keep the flag flying. You have all started very well, but the race continues, meaning that you must re-double your academic efforts to remain at the top.”

While lauding the National Alumni Association under the leadership of Mr. Kola Amole for the unprecedented initiative, the Eruwa-born administrator maintained that the focus of his administration is to raise graduates who will make the university proud. “My interactions with you have revealed that you are not limited by any barriers. Not your secondary school, state of origin, family background or ethnic etc should limit you. Your focus should be to excel in your academics and distinguish yourselves in life. As a Management, we shall continually celebrate excellence. I am equally proud to announce that a 1987 Alumnus, Pastor Oladokun Olatunde, Chairman & Founder, SEAP Microfinance has announced full scholarships for the best five (5) students across our five (5) Faculties. This means that the best five (5) among you shall in addition to the one hundred and fifty thousand naira (#150,000.00) from the Alumni Association, enjoy full Scholarships from SEAP Microfinance boss. I therefore on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of our institution congratulate you all as the pioneer beneficiaries of the University Alumni Scholarship Fund.”

In his message read by the National Treasurer, Mrs. Mojisola Ezekiel, the National President, EAUED Alumni Association, Mr. Kola Amole urged the recipients to see the award not just as a culmination, but as a beginning—a springboard into a future where they will continue to lead, to innovate, and to inspire others. “Your achievements remind us all that success is not a product of circumstance, but the result of consistent efforts, determination, and the ability to rise above challenges. You have made your families proud, your lecturers proud, and certainly, your alumni community proud,” submitted the renowned entrepreneur.

The recipients, speaking through Miss Karimat Ayomide ABIMBOLA  appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and members of the University Management for providing an enabling environment for them to excel. She specially acknowledged the love shown by the National Alumni Association and Pastor Oladokun Olatunde of SEAP. “We shall not disappoint the University, ourselves, Alumni Association and our parents. May God Almighty reward members of the Alumni family”, she submitted.

The luncheon had in attendance the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Olatunde Salawu, Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo, University Librarian, Dr Olatundun Oluwatoyin Oyewumi, Alumni National President, Mr. Kola Amole, represented by the National Treasurer, Mrs. Mojisola Ezekiel, Director of Works and Physical Planning, Engr. Jimoh Akintunde Bello, Deans of Faculties of Social Science Education, Professor Olalekan Ojedokun; Specialised and Professional Education, Professor Esther Oduolowu; Arts Education, Professor Adesola Olateju represented by the Faculty Officer, Mrs. Lola Popoola; Science Education, Professor Deborah Olayide Ajayi represented by the Faculty Officer, Mrs. Mope Afolabi; Vocational, Innovation and Engineering Education, Professor Ayotola Aremu represented by the Faculty Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Adegbite; Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Wole Akinlabi, Director, Academic Planning, Prof. Olumide Olajide, Director, Inter-Community and Alumni Relations, Dr. Olurotimi Akanni, Heads of Departments of the beneficiaries and all the ten (10) beneficiaries. Others include members of the University Vice-Chancellory led by the PAR/Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Olugbemiga Ogunkunle, Chairman and Vice Chairman, SRC.
