Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo Grants Approval for Algiers–Abuja-Douala Flight Route, Pledges Smooth Process for Air Algérie

The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has granted approval to Air Algérie to commence a new flight route of operation for Algiers-Abuja-Douala which is scheduled to launch in April.

This was made possible on Tuesday after the Ambassador of Algeria, H.E. Mezoued Hochine paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK), seeking approval for Air Algérie’s new flight route from Algiers-Abuja-Douala, scheduled to launch on April 6th as the airline’s 7th route in Africa.

The Honourable Minister, Keyamo warmly welcomed the proposal, expressing his excitement about the route’s potential to enhance regional connectivity and strengthen trade and tourism ties. He stated:

“My heart is filled with joy because this route connects Abuja to Douala and Algiers, fostering regional integration and economic growth.”

Reaffirming his unwavering support, the Minister declared his 100% backing for Air Algérie, assuring the Ambassador of his commitment to a smooth approval process. He further instructed the Ambassador to promptly report any official attempting to obstruct or frustrate the airline’s operations, underscoring his dedication to facilitating the successful launch of the new route.

This new route will definitely ease the pain of Nigerians who intend to travel to Douala in Cameroon and who have previously found it difficult to do so.
