Breaking: Nigerian Authors, Oyo Chapter Elects Busayo Fakunle as Gen. Secretary

In a momentous occasion held on Saturday 28th September 2024 at the Prince Tunde Odunlade Arts, Culture and Gallery Connexion Studio, New Bodija, ANA-Oyo stakeholders and members from across the state gathered to participate in the election of key representatives for the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Oyo State Chapter and Busayo Fakunle was elected as the General Secretary.

The election was the climax of the two-day ANA-OYO 33rd Annual Convention themed ‘Protests against Hunger and Economic Hardship: Implications for Nigerian Democracy’, which the Keynote Speaker, Professor Olakunbi O. Olasope addressed deeply under the distinguished chairmanship of Professor Chukwuma Okoye.

In a phone call conversation with our reporter Busayo Fakunle expressed his willingness and readiness to serve the association again having served as the Publicity Secretary for two terms (four years).

‘I will bring my wealth of experience and expertise to this new role and be committed to advancing and projecting the interests of the association.’ Busayo affirmed.

In attendance were the first Baameko of Ibadan land, Chief Saheed Oladele, Hon. Mudasir Ganiyu (former commissioner for special duties, Oyo State) Associate Professor Bayo Adebowale (founder African Heritage Research Library and Cultural Center), Prof Remi-Raji ( Former ANA President) and many other renowned personalities in the writing industry
