CCII, Kola-Daisi Opens Entrepreneurship Center, As Ajewole Calls Gov’t to Improve Plans on Skill Acquisition

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has partnered with the Bashorun of Ibadan, Chief Abiodun Kola-Daisi to commission a new ultramodern Kola-Daisi Enterpreneurship Center in Ibadan, while also calling on government to improve plans on skill acquisition and enterpreneurship trainings.

The President-General of the CCII, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole made this known on Friday during the opening ceremony of the newly built Entrepreneurship Center at Oke-Aremo. He urged the government to see the numerous opportunities in allocating more funds to developing skill acquisition and entrepreneurship centers across the state and Nigeria.

“The opportunities in prioritizing skills acquisition and vocational training are limitless. It remains an important remedy to combat crimes and other social vices that are common in our local communities and towns.

“We are indeed eternally grateful to Bashorun Ibadan, Chief Kola-Daisi for his fatherly support and vision to see youth development and empowerment as a major outlet to end crime and create employment opportunities.

Chief Ajewole also used the opportunity to appreciate all concerned stakeholders present at the grand commissioning to celebrate CCII entrepreneurship center for Ibadan Indigenes and residents.

Prof Adeniyi Olatunbosun, the Vice Chancellor of Kola-Daisi University who was the guest speaker for the program also threw more light on the multiple benefits of the entrepreneurship center as it gives ample opportunities to those who want to train in plumbing, carpentry, bricklaying and others as this will expose them to practical aspects and thus become employers of labour.

“This is a laudable initiative as it exposes the youth to practical aspects of their chosen jobs and they will soon become employers of labour. Once you learn the art, you then set up your own business and employ people, it has its tremendous benefits.

“This will also be different from the other forms of entrepreneurship, because the CCII and Chief Kola-Daisi are the ones behind this initiative and it is certain to be sustainable over a long period of time.
