As part of the grand occasion of the Ibadan Week Cultural Festival organised by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) which commenced on Thursday, the 8th of May, the youth across Ibadan have also concluded plans for a mega youth conference tagged the Ibadan Youth Day, 2025 which is aimed to bolster youth empowerment and vocational skills training.
This was contained in a statement made available to the press by the CCII Youth Committee Chairman, Princess Bukola Akanni. She along with her committee members gave an insight on the organisation and expectations ahead of the Tuesday, Ibadan Youth Conference tagged 2025 Ibadan Youth Day.

“We want to use this opportunity to invite all the youth across Ibadan to come down to Ibadan House at Yemetu and join us for the Ibadan Youth Conference centered on the theme “Bridging Unemployment Gap: The Role of Mandatory Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training in Ibadanland”, the event is aimed not only to promote leadership capacity and promote mentorship but also to further enlighten and empower the youth across Ibadan” princess Akanni said.

“This promises to be a special occasion with top dignitaries present as special guests, chairman of occasion and quality guest lecturers to fully enliven our experience and ultimately empower the Ibadan youth. Top guests and dignitaries include: Chief Saheed Oladele, the Bameeko of Ibadanland; Prof. Oyedunni S. Arulogun, the VC of Chrisland University, Abeokuta; SA to President Tinubu on Youth Initiative, Hon Titi Gbadamosi; Prof Iyiola Tella, the deputy VC, Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan; the Ibadan Tech Expo convener, ICT expert and Tech Guru, Hon Danjuma Balogun; and Hon Adebowale Falana, the Chairman, Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

“Others include, Chief Kazeem Owolabi, soon to be Mogaji of Shogade Compound and General Manager, OYRTMA, Commander Adeoye Ayoade Kola whom will all be hosted by the President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Ajeniyi Suleiman Ajewole who is also our father of the day.” she added.

It sure promises to be an interesting event with the guide and leadership support of the Chairman for the Ibadan Week Cultural Festival Planning Committee, Chief Abiola Alli who had earlier in a press conference highlighted the importance and value of the Ibadan Week program which is channeled to further promote the rich cultural heritage of Ibadan with array of programs and events laid down for an eventful and beautifully packaged 2025 Ibadan Week Cultural Festival.

“We enjoin all youth to be present to tap from this powerful and live enriching conference aimed to sensitize and empower the youth across Ibadanland.” Princess Akanni concluded.


Other members of the Ibadan youth conference committee include Prince Oluwatobi Adisa (Secretary), Dr. Adetunji I. Lawal, Hon Ojekunle Wasiu Olanrewaju and Dr. Kassim O. Badmus as committee members.
