The ECOWAS Court has rejected a request made by retired Col. Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser, seeking to compel Nigeria to implement the judgment ruled in his favor on October 4, 2016.
In its ruling, the court deemed the Nigerian government’s arrest and detention of Dasuki as improper and a breach of his rights.
During the judgment in Abuja regarding Dasuki’s enforcement application, Judge Rapporteur Justice Sengu Koroma dismissed the application, stating that the court did not have jurisdiction to uphold or enforce the previous judgment.
