He made the announcement on his Twitter page on Saturday. He said Verified accounts are henceforth temporarily limited to reading only 6,000 posts a day, adding that the unverified accounts and new unverified accounts are limited to reading only 600 posts a day and 300 posts per day, respectively.
“To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:
– Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
– Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
– New unverified accounts to 300/day,” tweeted Musk on Saturday hours after the social media platform was suffering from a global outage.
However, after about 2 hours later, the Billionaire Twitter owner posted again on his official page that “Rate limits increasing soon to 8000 for verified, 800 for unverified & 400 for new unverified. Then after another 3 hours again, he updated the figure to 10,000 for verified accounts, 1,000 for unverified accounts and 500 to new unverified accounts
