A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency and 2027 Federal Representative hopeful, Engr Saheed Adeyemi Oladele (SAO) has extended his heartfelt condolences to the entire Ayete Community and Ibarapaland on the demise of Chief Imam of Ayeteland, Alhaji Sheikh Gasali Abdulwahab Akewula who passed away on Monday morning.
He made this known in a press release which he personally signed and sent to newsmen. Engr SAO described the death of the Ibarapa Muslim leader as a deep shock and big loss to the entire Ayete Community. He emphasised the huge vacuum the loss of the Chief Imam will bring to the entire community illustrating him as a religious leader who was also a scholar, epitome of humility and exemplary character of high moral esteem.
“It came with rude shock on hearing the death of our father and religious leader, the Chief Imam of Ayete Community, Alhaji Sheikh Gasali Abdulwahab Akewula who died on Monday morning.
“This is a sad day as the Chief Imam’s death will no doubt leave a huge vacuum on our land with his fatherly role, religious influence and social value that he brings to every issue and progress of Ayeteland and Ibarapa communities” Engr SAO said
“Baba Gasali Akewula was also a religious leader who was also a scholar, epitome of humility and exemplary character of high moral esteem
“My sympathy goes to the entire Muslim community in Ayete, but more importantly to the immediate family of Alhaji Sheikh Gasali Akewula who have lost a family leader and rare gem” he added.
“May the Almighty Allah repose Baba’s soul and grant the entire family and Ayete Community the strength to bear the huge loss” Engr SAO concluded.
