Governors Received N30 Billion Extra to Address Food Scarcity, Hardship – Godswill Akpabio

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, said that each state governor has been allocated an extra N30 billion to address the challenges of food scarcity and hardships affecting Nigerians.

“I must say that unverified report has it that each of the state government in the last few months has received additional N30billion from Federal Inland Revenue Service, outside their normal allocation from the federation account to assist them in ameliorating the food situation, we believed that every state government should utilise the funds so received towards ensuring that food is available in the country.”

“So the state governments have a lot to do they are closest to the people and I don’t want to mention local government because most local governments are controlled by the state governors, so my believe is that if the state government do what is needful, then the local governments in turn will need to be involved in sharing to make sure these things get to the people.”
