As part of the celebration of democracy day in Nigeria, Hon Oluwasegun Akinsanya Kure, a federal representative hopeful from Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency has reminded citizens of the true development and growth that comes with democracy in Nigeria, while also urging the federal government to keep working assiduously to prioritize the growth of the economy and human capacity building.
Hon Oluwasegun Akinsanya Kure made this statement during his democracy day greetings that also signifies the struggle for our national democracy from the June 12 crisis of late MKO Abiola to this present day achievement and growth of democracy. He used the opportunity to call on the public support and promote the ideals of democracy which includes freedom, equity, justice and power to the people.
“In celebration of our nascent democracy, which has witnessed many glorious achievements and prosperity through the years, I celebrate our humble beginning as a nation, our struggle through the years amid unity and diversity as a nation.
“We need to be constantly reminded as a nation that democracy was born out of sacrifices made by our past leaders who fought for what we now enjoy today right from the first Republic to the MKO Abiola June 12 and to this President Bola Tinubu led government. Certainly , we are not at the El Dorado but we are constantly improving and fixing the anomalies to achieve national growth.” Hon Akinsanya Kure stated.
Hon Oluwasegun Akinsanya also advised the other level of governments and parastals to join the federal government in prioritizing economic growth and human development which is one of the keys to effectively and rapidly revamp the country “Other level governments across the country including state and local government should also prioritize economic growth, subsidized consumers products and humans capital growth” he added.
