Ibadan Explosion: Power Minister, Adelabu Sympathizes with Government, People of Oyo State


Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has sympathized with people and government of Ibadan, Oyo State over the explosion which rocked the city on Tuesday evening.

The explosion, said to have occured in Bodija, left severe impact across the town with victims seriously injured and property destroyed. Two lives were said to have been lost in the incident while the injured are still receiving treatment in various hospitals across the State.

Chief Adelabu in his message on X (formerly Twitter) expressed sadness on the incident and the terrible impact it would have on residents and people of Ibadan.

His message reads:

“I was deeply saddened to learn about the explosion in Ibadan on Tuesday night. The news was a shocking and distressing surprise, particularly considering the serious impact it will undoubtedly have on the lives of the residents in the affected areas and on the daily routines of the people in Ibadan”.

Adelabu prayed for the lives of those directly and indirectly affected by the explosion. He also prayed for their swift and safe recovery while receiving best support from government and all relevant stakeholders in Oyo State.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been directly and indirectly affected by the devastating consequences of this explosion. As we pray for their swift and safe recovery, I hope they receive the necessary support from the government and all relevant stakeholders in the state”.

The Minister of Power also urged everyone in the state to unite with government to combat crimes and Illegal activities by reporting any suspicious movement in their residence, workplace or anywhere else to the authorities.

“I urge everyone to unite in the effort to combat crimes and illegal activities by promptly reporting any suspicious or unusual behaviour to the authorities—whether in our residential areas, workplaces, or anywhere else across the state.” Adelabu added.

“May the Almighty Allah, in his infinite mercy, continue to safeguard us from all forms of harm and peril”, the Minister concluded.
