Keyamo Family Accuses Ugandan Woman, Zaineb of Child Trafficking, Blackmail in Shocking Allegations

In a dramatic unfolding of events, Ruth Keyamo Omonigho, the sister of Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, has publicly accused Haidi Zaineb Rambo of engaging in fraudulent activities, child trafficking, and blackmail.

In a detailed statement provided to the media, Ruth recounted her long-standing friendship with Zaineb, which rekindled during Festus Keyamo’s appointment as a minister in 2023. Zaineb, claiming financial distress while caring for her ill mother in New York, solicited monetary support. Out of compassion, Ruth and her family extended their generosity, reportedly contributing substantial financial aid to assist in relocating Zaineb and her mother first to Uganda and then to Nigeria for medical treatment.

Upon their arrival in Nigeria in December 2023, Zaineb was reportedly accompanied by her mother, a young boy named Prinston, and a 24-year-old man, Nsubuga Douglas. Initially introduced as Zaineb’s nephew, Prinston was later claimed to be her son. When pressed for proper adoption documentation, Zaineb allegedly failed to provide any and eventually confessed to forging consent and travel papers for both the child and her teenage daughter, Layah.

The Keyamo family invested millions of naira into medical treatments for Zaineb’s mother across several prestigious hospitals in Abuja, before her passing on May 22, 2024. However, Ruth described how Zaineb subsequently began making “outrageous financial demands,” including a ₦5 million casket and other costs the family found unreasonable.

Concerned about the child’s legal status in Nigeria and Zaineb’s escalating threats, the Keyamo family decided to involve the Nigerian Immigration Service, resulting in Zaineb’s deportation back to Uganda in June 2024. The young boy was returned alongside her, with the deceased mother’s body sent for burial.

The Keyamo family alleges that despite their benevolence, Zaineb sought to extort money from them through threats and blackmail—claims they assert have “collapsed.”

“This is a case of the villain wanting to be the victim,” Ruth Keyamo declared. “We shall issue no further statement about this matter.”

As of now, authorities have not confirmed whether any legal charges will be pursued.
