Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has congratulated, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the conferment of a prestigious honorary Doctorate Degree by Lead City University, Ibadan on him.
The Minister described the academic honour as a fitting recognition of Oba Ladoja’s monumental contributions to public service, business, community development, and the socio-cultural advancement of Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
“His life and leadership have been a testament to integrity, wisdom, and a deep-seated commitment to the progress of his people”, he said.
According to Chief Adelabu, as a former Governor and now a revered monarch, Oba Ladoja has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership that bridges the rich heritage of Ibadan traditions with the demands of modern development. “His reign is ushering in an era of peace, unity, and significant growth in Ibadan, creating an environment conducive for progress in all sectors.
The Honourable Minister notes that the stability and development witnessed in Ibadan when the Olubadan was Governor and lately as the traditional authority in Ibadanland directly support national goals, including efforts to improve electricity supply and infrastructure. A peaceful and progressive community is fundamental to the success of all governmental interventions.
“As a son of the soil and the Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadanland, I join our people, the academic community, and all well-wishers across Nigeria in celebrating our revered monarch on this well-deserved honour. May this Doctorate serve as a further inspiration to all, and may Kabiyesi’s reign continue to be long, peaceful, and prosperous.”
The Minister prays that Almighty God grants Oba (Dr.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja continued good health, wisdom, and strength as he continues to lead Ibadan and contribute to the nation’s development.
