Miyetti Allah has urged the authorities to immediately arrest Sunday Igboho following his video threatening the Fulani community.
They made this known in a statement released by Baba Othman Ngelzarma, National President, MACBAN.
“The attention of the National body of Miyetti-Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has been drawn to the recent video trending in the social media where Sunday Igboho was seeing vomiting fire in the palace of a Yoruba traditional ruler saying that all Fulanis should vacate the Yoruba land. He emphatically said he would chase out all Fulani cattle breeders in the South Western part of Nigeria.
“We call on the Commander-in-chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and other relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute Sunday Igboho for making this unlawful statement that can amount to treason because he is asking for the actualization of Oduduwa nation. If Nnamdi Kanu will be held behind bars for a similar offence, we see no reason why Sunday Igboho will be allowed to go scorn free without being arrested and prosecuted
“Report from our Oyo state branch further indicates that the group led by Sunday Igboho had allegedly shot one Fulani man to death whose name was IDRIS MOHAMMED on Friday the 23rd day of February at Asomo in Iseyin at about 6:pm while coming back from Chief’s Palace where they made the purported video release.
“These misguided utterances poses a grave national security threat. The free movement of such elements of Sunday Igboho without being tamed will only escalate the level of insecurity in the country.
“The community of Fulani cattle breeders living in the southwest or any part of this country should not be held responsible for crimes perpetrated by criminals within or outside their fold. Criminals should be seen as such and dealt with no matter their ethics or religious inclinations.
“MACBAN will not tolerate the unjustifiable treatment of any of its members just because they are Fulani cattle breeders. Nigeria remains a single entity guided by a constitution that gives the right to all citizens to co-exist wherever they desire to live within the ambits of the law.
“Continued silence on this matter without according it the seriousness it deserves in the security structure of the country, will only make us believe that Sunday Igboho is been supported and shielded by the powers that might be in the southwest.
“We also call on all Fulani cattle breeders in the southwestern region to remain law abiding and report all suspicious activities to the constituted Authorities within their domain.”
