A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Oluyole local Government of Oyo State and Executive Director, Corporate Services for Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Hon Ayoade Rasheed Adegboyega (ARA) has reminded Nigerians to further reflect on the determinations and sacrifices of our past heroes and leaders in the hope of a better Nigeria.
Hon Adegboyega ARA stated this in a press statement released from his Abuja office on Tuesday in commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration, where he eulogized our country, Nigeria in honour of our rich history, diverse identity and vibrant traditions.
“Today, October 1, 2024, marks the annual Independence Day celebration of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as we commemorate our nation’s 64th Independence Day. The freedom we enjoy today is the result of the determination and sacrifice of countless men and women who laid down their lives for our nation—a nation bound in freedom, peace, and unity.” Hon ARA stated.
“This day offers us, as Nigerians, an opportunity to reflect on our nationhood. It is a special occasion for all Nigerians, regardless of background or belief. We honor our rich history, diverse identity, and vibrant traditions.” he added.
Hon ARA in his message also highlighted the unique richness and beauty of our thriving democracy which is characterised by multicultural, multilingual and multireligious make up.
He also urged Nigerians to celebrate the glory of a free Nigeria while upholding the pride and honor of being good citizens.
“Nigeria is a glorious nation characterized by its multicultural, multilingual, and multireligious makeup, along with diverse interests that make us uniquely different and a thriving democracy.” Hon Adegboyega continued.
