NOA Begins Mass Mobilisation of Oyo State Voters Ahead of 2024 LG Election

Ahead of April 27, 2024 forthcoming Local Government election the Oyo State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has embarked on another round of Voters mobilisation and sensitisation across all the 33 local governments in the State.

According to a press release from the media unit of the agency yesterday to journalists in Ibadan, this final round of sensitisation is aimed at mass mobilisation of registered voters to come out enmass on April 27, 2024 to perform their civic rights. It is also targeted at sensitising the entire Oyo state citizens through different stakeholders forums on peaceful conduct before, during and after the election. It is expected that through this campaign Oyo State voters will shun electoral vices such as voters apathy, vote buying, ballot stuffing, multiple votes, violence on election day and other malpractices. The overall goal of the exercise is to ensure a transparent and violence free poll devoid of malpractices thus , conducted in a way that i will make it credible and acceptable by all.

The release added that the Agency is working in tandem with OYSIEC to leave no stone unturned to make the election a credible one that will serve as a reference point by other states.

The Agency therefore appeals to all registered voters in the State to come out en masse and perform their civic responsibility on the election day. The Agency reiterates the importance of Local Government election is immense been the closest tier of government to the people.
