… Presents Outstanding Partner Award to Host, Mayor Issac Brown
The Oyo State Director for the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr Olukemi Afolayan has stated that the agency is more than ever determined to be successful in its mandate of nation character building especially with the recent introduction of the national identity project which interestingly is now centered on the ordinary Nigerians as well as the people in government.
Dr Afolayan stated this on Monday during a live program, Situation Room on Ibadan Radio station, FreshFm, hosted by the Mayor Isaac Brown where she explain in details the mandate and responsibilities of the NOA.
“From the inception of MAMSER, NOA campaigns have always been targeted at ordinary Nigerians but now our campaigns will be in two ways as it will also be targeted at the people in government including the Presidency, the State government, local government authorities and public officials. We are also going to educate the Nigerian leaders to be good leaders.” Dr Afolayan said.
“We will use the critical stakeholders to achieve our goals. In Oyo State, we will be having a Town Hall meeting with selected stakeholders on National Value Charters.We will enlighten the people on the Nigerian promise and citizens code.
“We will have in attendance numerous key leaders from the religious bodies, traditional rulers, artisans, professional bodies, student and youth groups. We also have NOA officers in the local governments and wards who will be moving round visiting the Baales, Churches, Mosques, NYSC camps and so on.” She stated.
Dr Afolayan also highlighted some of the special intervention programs by the federal government of Nigeria which have been a direct result of the numerous feedback from the NOA.
“One of the key mandates of the NOA is feedback and our interaction with people have led to many of these ongoing intervention palliatives by the federal government and state governors.
“It is also important to notify us that we now have more government intervention programs than ever in the history of Nigeria. Talking of food security, the federal government has set aside over N200 billion to assist farmers on stable foods and agricultural input.” she concluded.
Thereafter, Dr Afolayan on behalf of the management of NOA, Oyo State Directorate extended their deepest gratitude to the Mayor, Isaac Brown with a presentation of an outstanding partner award for his unwavering commitment to the NOA mission and for his tireless advocacy on value orientation, invaluable expertise and partnership.
