As part of a continued effort to ensure that government programs and policies are better understood, the Director General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Isaa-Onilu on Friday in Ibadan reeled out the policies and projects of President Bola Tinubu under the Renewed Hope administration aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians nationwide, it was also a rare moment for the elected office holders in Ibadan North LG to have a direct conversation with the people.
Mallam Isaa-Onilu, who was ably represented by the NOA Director, Department of Political Education, Civic, Ethics and Value, Mrs Adeola Adelaja, made this revelation during a Town Hall Meeting titled ‘Citizens Conversation with Elected Public Officials in Oyo State’ held at the Ibadan North LG Secretariat Hall, in Ibadan North LG of Oyo State where he highlighted the Federal Government Initiatives under President Bola Tinubu.
According to the NOA boss, the Town Hall meeting is hinged on NOA’s commitment to bringing the people closer to their government. “A rare opportunity with elected officials to exchange quality ideas to build community togetherness, encourage resilience in economic hardship, participation and support for policies and programs. An opportunity to hold our elected leaders to their campaign promises which promotes transparency in government, reduces corruption and enables shared vision for development.”
“The policies and projects of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu administration whzich includes the Student Loan Scheme, Nigeria Youth Investment Fund, Fuel Subsidy Removal, Presidential CNG Initiative, Infrastructure Development and Siemens Power Project, Conditional Cash Transfer and Support for Nano Businesses which are all focused on creating a Nigeria where every citizen can enjoy improved economic opportunity and quality of life.” Isaa-Onilu stated.
The Oyo State Government Initiatives under Gov Seyi Makinde were also highlighted including health, education, governance reform particularly programs through the Sustainable Actions for Economic Recovery (SAfER) Program which include Welfare Support, Economic and Business Support, Transportation Initiatives, Agricultural Empowerment and Youth Empowerment.
Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Hon Oluwaseun Olufade aka Onala in his statement appreciated the efforts of NOA in ensuring government programs and policies are better understood through awareness and mobilization.
Hon Olufade Onala also took the time to highlight some of the special intervention programs by his administration including registration of 250 indigents into the Oyo State Health Insurance Scheme (OYSHIA), purchase of Sienna Space Bus for Vigilante Group, Installation of Wifi within the Local Government Secretariat to mention a few.
Dignitaries present include the State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr Olukemi Afolayan. Others are Ibadan North LG House Leader and Councilors; Baba Ekefa Olubadan, Chief Hamzat; Members of Community Development Council; Red Cross; Babaloja of Ibadan North LG, Alh. S.
