NOA Launches National Identity Project, as Mallam Isaa-Onilu Calls for Collaborative Efforts to Sensitize Nigerians on Value Orientation

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Isaa-Onilu on Thursday in Ibadan launched the National Identity Project along with some other ongoing nationwide programs of the agency.

Mallam Isaa-Onilu  who was ably represented at the event by Mrs Adelaja Adeola, the Director, Political education, Civic and Values, made this statement at a press conference held at the Oyo State Directorate Headquarters of NOA in Ibadan. The press conference had in attendance, different media partners, where the agency showcased the substantial progress and pivotal roles of the NOA in mobilizing and sensitizing the public on value orientation and attitudinal change.

Mallam Isaa-Onilu in his address highlighted some of the important steps taken by the agency in their continued effort to institutionalize the ‘Real Nigerian Character’ across various strata of the society. He also stated that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) just recently approved series of their proposals which include: the restoration of national symbols; the national value charters and curriculum; and the citizens value brigade, amongst others.

The Director General also took the opportunity to remind the different media outfits present at the event, that they remain the most powerful tool for reaching every Nigerian home and community. He urged all to also share in the responsibility of sensitizing the public on the benefits of embracing the values that will further promote national unity, peace and progress. We need Nigerians to build Nigeria, others can only assist, he remarked.

In furtherance of his press statement, Mallam Isaa-Onilu laid emphasis on the modern technologies adopted by NOA in reaching out to the younger generations in Nigeria, some of which also includes CLHEEAN – NOA’s AI Voice/Chat Assistant which will help to facilitate quick access to information on government initiatives related to crime, lawlessness, health, education, and other key issues; the Explainer Newsletter and Mobiliser App that will provide real-time updates and engagement opportunities with the public; and the Learn2Win Gamification platform that is targeted particularly to the youth to educate them on government policies through quizzes and rewards.

On a final note, Mallam Isaa-Onilu drew attention to some of the developmental policies of this administration like the Students Loan Scheme and the National Youth Investment Fund while agitating for collaborative efforts with the media partners to amplify the message of national rebirth and unity by the NOA.

Present at the occasion was the NOA Director, Department of Political, Civic, Ethics and Value, Mrs Adeola Adelaja who stood in for the Director General of the Agency, also present was the State Director, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan; Ibadan ace broadcaster, the Mayor Isaac Brown of Fresh FM Radio; Mr Yinka Agboola of Parrotxtra Media; and Mr Oladapo Olusola, Oyo NUJ Secretary and a host of other press men.
