Olivet Heights A’Levels ’82 Set Holds 2024 Reunion, Elects New Executive

…as Professor Oyeronke Olademo Becomes Chairperson

In the spirit of fraternity, keeping in touch and giving back to one’s source, alumni members of the Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo 1980-82 Set today met at their alma-mater for the 2024 Annual Alumni Re-union. The event brought crème de la crème of alumni from all walks of life.

In his welcome address, Chairman, 2024 Anniversary Planning Committee, Mr. Olusoji Emiola appreciated all members for the trust reposed in him and members of his committee. “It all started as if it was not going to work, but with your unwavering support, we are making history today. The importance of Alumni Association cannot be underestimated. I thank God Almighty for keeping us all together in the last forty (42) years that we exited the school. Our committee is happy and thankful. I pray we all get back to our destinations safely in Jesus name”, he submitted.

The event heralded the leadership of Professor Oyeronke Olademo as the new Chairman of the Set. She was elected along with other new executive members to steer the Set between 2024-2026. Others elected are – Mr. Olusoji Emiola- Deputy Chairman; Chief Olatunde Ojo-General Secretary; Mr. Oyesola Oyedele- Asst Gen Secretary;Alhaji Luqman Noibi-Treasurer; Chief(Mrs) Atinuke Omodele- Financial Secretary; Mr. Faruk Kilani Esq. – Legal Adviser; Mr. John Akinlabi-Co-ordinator for Europe and Dr. Wumi Oguntunmibi, Co-ordinator for North America.

In her acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Professor Oyeronke Olademo acknowledged the support of her colleagues and the trust placed on her. She accepted to put in her best as the school advances towards marking her 80th anniversary. “I am overwhelmed with your trust in me, and I assure you that my team and I shall do our best in line with the mandate given to us. It is high time we looked at the list of needs of the school as submitted by the Principal, Mr. G. T. Lagbenro. We cannot afford to fail. We must be part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of our alma-mater. I lean on your support and count very much on you all. I appreciate you all”, stated the new Set leader.

The programme witnessed the delivery of Anniversary Lecture by Dr. Layiwola Sunday Siyanbade, cutting of anniversary cake, reminiscences of the past, taking of pictures and dancing.
