The Royal Group (TRG), Ibadan have shared their condolence message on the death of Olubadan, Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun (Alli Okunmade II) whom they described as an institutional loss to the people of Ibadan across all turfs including politics and business.
The President of the Club, Prince Kamikun Akewula sent this message after witnessing the burial rights along with the Club executives at the family compound in Ali-Iwo on Friday. He expressed with utter sadness the monumental loss witnessed in Ibadan with the death of Olubadan.
He further described Oba Olalekan Balogun as a rare breed with the legacy of one who came, saw and conquered all that was before him. His influence will remain one that will forever be remembered.
“On behalf of all the members of Egbe Omo Oba Alade Ile Ibadan also known as The Royal Group (TRG), I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, the Ali-Iwo Family Compound, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde on the death of our reverred Royal Father, the Olubadan, Oba Olalekan Mohood Balogun Alli Okunmade II.” Prince Akewula stated.
“Olubadan untimely death comes as a shock to all members of our dear Club and we must express the monumental loss this has brought upon our land. Oba Olalekan Balogun is no doubt an institution to the people of Ibadan. He remains a prominent and a very influential figure around the city of Ibadan and beyond.
“A rare breed that will surely be missed and his legacies of a man who came, saw and conquered it all in business, politics and the exalted Olubadan seat will always precede his immortal reputation.” he added.
“We pray for the Almighty God to repose his soul and grant him Aljana Firdaous in the after life.” Prince Akewula concluded.
