Oyo: Alayande Varsity Organises 2025 Registry Workshop

… Vice-Chancellor, Olaniyan Harps on Quality, Productive Registry Staff

In keeping faith with the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Management’s vision to have human resources that could match with their counterparts in other universities across the globe, the institution’s Registry Department recently organised its 2025 Registry Workshop.

The workshop, themed “Elevating Standards, Enhancing Service: The Registry Staff Commitment” drew three resource persons for the exercise and was designed to scale up working performances of the University registry staff.

In her welcome address, the Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo lauded the University Management for approving that the workshop be held. She singled out the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan as a leader to beat as he has been leading with the fear of God. She later commended the Registry Staff for their dedication to duties.

“To all our registry staff, your active engagement, thoughtful contributions, and willingness to grow have been the highlight of this workshop. Your commitment reminds me of the words of Aristotle, who said: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Let us carry this spirit forward into our daily work,” submitted the Chief Administrative Officer.

While declaring the 2025 Registry Workshop open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, harped on the importance of the registry in any institution.

According to the University gaffer, “this is another opportunity to further add values to our registry staff. Since we came on board, our Management has committed enormous resources into capacity building and this informed periodic trainings in every department of the University. Our decision is to have value addition and ensure our staff members compete favourably anywhere they find themselves in the world.”

“I therefore urge staffers of the University registry to take advantage of this workshop to learn new things. I am sure that together, we shall move this great institution forward. I hereby declare this workshop open,” stated the university helmsman.

The 2025 Registry Workshop, which had the registry workforce as participants, enjoyed teachings from the former Registrar, University of Ibadan, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi; Deputy Registrar, Postgraduate School, University of Ibadan, Mr. Oluyemisi Adebayo Olaoye and a retired LAUTECH, Ogbomoso Registry Staff, Mr. Bashir A. Akande.

In their various presentations, they all agreed that “high registry standards are crucial in maintaining institutional credibility, staff retention, student trust, and administrative efficiency. These standards are defined by professionalism, accuracy, service delivery speed and compliance with regulations. Institutions that uphold these values see improved academic experiences, staff and students’ satisfaction and higher global rankings.”

The workshop was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim O. Salawu, Registrar and Host, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo, Bursar, Mr. Olawole Adebayo Ojetola, University Librarian, Dr Olatundun O. Oyewumi, former Registrar, defunct Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo,  Alh. Teslim L. Adediran, Director of Audit, Mr. Wasiu Abiodun Ganiyu, Director of Works and Physical Planning, Engr. Bello Jimoh, Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Olumide Olajide, Director of Teaching Practice and SIWES, Dr. Olusegun Adeagbo, Director of Inter-Community and Alumni Relations, Dr. Rotimi Akanni, Senior Deputy Registrars- Messrs Yekeen O. Adebimpe, Rasheed O. Olaosebikan and Adelakin P. Adegbite, Deputy Registrars, Principal Assistant Registrars with other registry staff.
