Oyo: APC Flag-off Campaign in Ibadan North, As Power Minister Adelabu Tells Constituents to Vote Murphy as Support for Tinubu, Akinremi Jagaban

It was a massive turnout for party members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, when the party held their campaign flag-off ahead of the August 16 bye-election for Ibadan North federal constituency for their candidate, Hon Adewale Olatunji Murphy.

A fun-filled event held on Friday at the popular Bodija Market had the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu; the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Hon Akin Alabi with Deputy DG, Balogun Gaphar Ojetola and Hon Akeem Adeyemi Skimeh; also with late governor Abiola Ajimobi’s brother, Alh. Wasiu Ajimobi; former ALGON chairman in Oyo state, Hon. Abass Aleshinloye and Hon Ayoade Adegboyega ARA with Fuji maestro, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma all in attendance.

While speaking, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu told the people gathered that “A vote for APC on August 16 is a vote of confidence for President Bola Tinubu in Oyo State, a vote for the continuity of all the good works of late Hon Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, and a vote against the state government from stealing our party mandate, our lands and market across Oyo State”.

“If we all unite our forces and strength we shall defeat the PDP in this election. We have our 3 senators and 8 representatives in Oyo State, if we all work together in this election and towards 2027, we shall have our mandates back.” Adelabu said.

The power minister also reminded the people that the other aspirants in the APC have all supported Murphy including Hon Yinka Omikunle, Hon Farouq Arisekola Alao, Dr Olaitan Victor, Hon Adekunle Oladeji Omobao, Hon Saheed Aderounmi Symbol, Hon Idris Olapade – Lapido, Hon Junaid Olamide, Hon Olusegun Olaleye Radicalbrother, Hon AbdulRazaq AbdulGaniu, GRA, Hon Monsuru Adeyemo Socrates and others.

Adelabu also added that “Let’s vote for Murphy, a veteran in politics who is well vast with the nooks and crannies of Ibadan North and has been in the progressive fold since 2003 where he contested for federal representative but was rigged out by this same opposition through a kangaroo process”.

The APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Olayide Abas also urged the party faithful to unite and work towards a successful bye-election for Hon Adewale Murphy. He prayed for a successful outcome for the APC and thereafter presented the party flag and mandate to Hon Adewale Olatunji Murphy as official candidate of the party for the August 16 election along with the Campaign DG, Hon Akin Alabi.

Hon Akin Alabi thereafter thanked the people for their support for the APC and President Bola Tinubu. He urged them to come out once more on August 16 to express their solidarity for the party and for President Tinubu in Oyo State.
