In a renewed laudable stride towards disrupting the flow of illicit funds as parts of the foundation ‘s efforts towards putting a permanent cessation to illegal financial activities particularly among the youths, the Hope for Second Chance (HOSEC) Foundation has addressed the issue of moral degradation amongst youths.
The well attended occasion took place at the
Town House Hotel, 1, NTC Quarters, Ibadan, Oyo state as the 7th anniversary and 4th edition of the “Oratory Contest,” which drew resounding support from the Oyo State Government and various key stakeholders, including the National Orientation Agency.

The event highlighted, among others, the foundation’s commitment to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and youths through character development, education, leadership by example (LBE) and ethical appeal for moral rejuvenation.
The event, under the chairmanship of Hon Falana Adebowale Adebayo, featured representatives from both the public and private sectors. Notably, present to lend the NOA’s support to the programme was the new state director of NOA, Oyo State Directorate, Mr Aderogba Akanbi, who was ably represented by Dr. (Mrs.) Ruth Awosanmi, Deputy Director, Human Resources Management.

NOA’s presence at the event lucidly underscored the Agency’s ongoing sensitsaton on civic education, the national identity project, and the youth-focused, say “No to Get Rich-Quick Syndrome” all promoting ethical values and national consciousness.
Earlier, in his goodwill message delivered by Mrs. Omotoso Titilola, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Architect Olayiwola Olusegun, the Ministry applauded HOSEC’s vital role in nurturing leadership and character building in young people. The Commissioner’s message consolidated the importance of such initiatives in complementing the state’s education policies, particularly in building accountability and discouraging youths’ involvement in social vices, including financial crimes.
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, was widely appreciated for his steadfast commitment to educational advancement and youth empowerment. All stakeholders present acknowledged his administration’s support in creating an enabling environment for organizations like HOSEC to thrive and make meaningful contributions to society at this rightful period of moral laxity.
The Oratory Contest—now in its fourth edition—challenged participants to articulate solutions to societal issues through the lens of character, leadership, and ethical purpose. The event featured Mr. Akinremi Damilola, CEO of E-Currency Nigeria, as a special guest who encouraged youths to transform adversity into opportunity and embrace their personal journey with resilience and confidence.
