Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has expressed sadness over the death of Honourable Musiliu Akinremi a.k.a Jagaban, the member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Honourable Akinremi, who was the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Science Research Institutions, passed on in Abuja early today after a brief illness.
In a condolence message personally signed by him, Professor Akande noted that Hon Akinremi’s death was sudden and tragic. He was young and ebullient, and no one would have thought of his passage at a time like this.
Professor Akande noted that Honourable Akinremi had distinguished himself as a worthy representative with his participation in legislative matters and excellent programme of empowerment for the people of his federal constituency.
“Only last week, I told him that he had raised the bar of representation with his programme of empowerment for the people of his constituency.”
Professor Akande prayed for the repose of the soul of Hon Akinremi. He also prayed that God would console and be with his family, friends and admirers.
