The new Director of Oyo State National Orientation Agency, Mrs Ajolayo Sinmiat Akande, was ushered into the office as a new helmsman of the agency on Tuesday, 24th of June, with torrent of prayers as she met with the management staffers after receiving her official letter from the agency’s headquarters.
The new state director ascribed her elevation to the blessings of the supreme being who designs and perfect ways for all creatures. She declared, “My assumption to the seat is more divine than being fortuitous”. She also prayed that “the Lord who has done it miraculously for her is still in power and will continue to elevate each and every one of us.”
Mrs Ajolayo who beseeched God for divine wisdom and direction as she holds the steerage of Oyo NOA also took time to eulogize the agency’s former state director, Dr Olukemi Afolayan who has been promoted to Abuja as a national director, Civic Values and Democracy Education, for her words of encouragement during her low moments. She thanked the former director for being her fortress as she praised other people whose encouragement served as her destiny helpers.
Mrs Akande finally prayed for the Director General of the Agency Mallam Lanre Isaa-Onilu for expanding the agency organogram to enable many staffers who have felt disillusioned because of the usual “No vacancy” to get promotion. She said the DG’s efforts to set the agency on a deserving pedestal could not be wished away as everyone in the agency nationwide is now motivated to work harder. “Like Oliver Twists, we believe the DG would do more to move the agency forward,” she observed.
After her address, which drew a rousing ovation from the management staffers, fervent prayers were offered by both Muslims and Christians who jointly prayed to God to give the new Director the wherewithal to drive the State Directorate to the land of glory of successful tenure.
All the management members, and heads of departments and desks could not hide their happiness for having one of them who has always worked with them now in the past to head the agency and they promised their unalloyed support for the success of the new director.
