President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the removal of police officers who are currently assigned to protect Very Important Persons (VIPs) in the country.
From this point onward, law enforcement agencies will allocate their resources to focus primarily on their essential policing responsibilities.
During a security meeting convened by President Tinubu in Abuja on Sunday, a presidential order was given. This gathering included the police, air force, army leaders, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS)
Following the President’s directive, VIPs seeking police protection will now need to request well-armed officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
