Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has congratulated Senator Teslim Folarin on his elevation to the position of Aare Alasa of Ibadanland and Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle on his appointment as Executive Director (Commercial and Environmental Development) in the South West Development Commission.
In a statement released by his media office, Professor Akande noted that the elevation of Senator Folarin to the position of Aare Alasa of Ibadanland is a call to further service for the development of Ibadanland.
He stated that it is also an appreciation of his service over the years for the development of Ibadanland.
“There is no greater honour than the one that comes from home’, the statement noted, stating that the acknowledgement of his contribution to the development of Ibadanland is however a call for more sacrifice and work for the advancement of the people. Prof Akande prayed for a successful tenure for High Chief Folarin as the Aare Alasa of Ibadanland.
Prof Akande noted that Alhaji Ibikunle’s appointment to the board of the South West Development Commission is a noble appointment to steer the ship of the development of the South West under the auspices of the South West Development Commission.
Prof Akande noted that Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle was actively involved in the notion of a region driven development of the South West which informed the creation of a Ministry of Integration of the South West in the government of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi in Oyo State.
Prof Akande also noted that Ibikunle is coming to the job with a wealth of experience that will help in the delivery of the mandate of the South West Development Commission. Prof Akande prayed for a successful and impactful tenure for him in the commission.
