Umahi, Tambuwal visit BUA’s fifth cement facility in Sokoto to assess operations and negotiate for lower prices in the market.

While inspecting the reconstruction of a 372 km dual road from Sokoto to Zaria in Kaduna State, Mr Umahi showed concern and urged the BUA cement’s management to consider reducing the prices of cement in the market.

He underscored the administration’s dedication to stabilizing the Naira’s value and reassured the public that steps were being taken to tackle the increasing prices of goods.

During a meeting with the manufacturers, he shared that the president had instructed cement companies to return to the previous prices.

“I encourage them to comply with the President’s directive, facilitating a massive housing programme and the national agenda for concrete roads,” he stated.

The Managing Director of BUA, Yusuf Binji, confirmed that the addition of the fifth plant would result in a notable rise in daily cement output, ultimately leading to a reduction in market prices.}

“The new plant will add 165 trucks to our daily production capacity, further driving down the product’s price in the market,” Mr Binji said.
