The Supreme Forum of Yoruba Youths (SFYY) also known as ‘Igbimo Egbe Odo To Ga Julo’ on Wednesday charged the Yoruba Youth to express more conscious support for the Yoruba culture but more importantly to rejuvenate the Yoruba culture for more economic prosperity through trade and businesses.
The Supreme Forum led by the National President, Comrade Olufemi Awogboro made this call during the 2024 annual lecture held at the Ambassador Romoke Ayinde Hall of the National Museum at Aleshinloye in Ibadan where he appealed to the youth to exhibit more passion for the Yoruba tradition.

The Supreme Forum for Yoruba Youth also celebrated the life and royalty of the grand patron, late Imperial Majesty, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Ikubabayeye with citations and royal eulogy for the late monarch.


Prof Wale Oyeweso, the Chairman Governing Council for the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) also delivered a very powerful annual lecture with the title ‘Rejuvenation of the Yoruba Culture for Economic Upliftment of the People.
In his lecture, Prof Oyeweso solicited all concerned parties to contribute immensely to the development of the Yoruba language and culture including parents. He stated that as a tribe, the Yoruba norms and trades are no longer being practiced including farming, textiles and even the indigenous meals have been widely abandoned.



Prof Oyeweso afterwards beseeched the youth to strive to leave for posterity, a standing legacy of a proud Yoruba culture that is far accepted globally even by other race and culture.



Other dignitaries present also shared a few messages for the Yoruba youth forum including the Royal fathers of the event – the Olu of Igboora land, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye; the Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, Oba Saliu Azeez; the retired Archbishop, Most Rev. Ayo Ladigbolu; Oba Awoniran Ifabamise Adelani Ojebode Anifalaje Keta, the Oba Ela Ifa of Oyo State; Hon Adeyemi Akeem (Skimeh), Otunba Tiamiyu Babatunde; Engr Toyin Ojo . Chairman (Ado Ekiti central LCDA); Oyo state commissioner of police, Sonubi Oluyemi Ayodele; Ayaba Sulat Adeyemi, Chief Mrs Bolatito Dokun, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde and many others.
