A sociocultural group in Ibadan, The Royal Group (TRG) has felicitated with all indigenes and residents of Ibadan on the celebration of this year’s festive season. The Ibadan group also extended their condolence greetings to the victims of Ibadan Xmas funfair stampede at Islamic High School and also the terrible fire incident at Araromi Sparepart at Agodi Gate.
The Royal Group, an affiliate of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and registered as “Omo Oba Alade Ile Ibadan” made this known during a press statement from the Club President, Prince Kamikun Adebolaji Akewula signed by the Executive Secretary, Prince Oluwatobi Adisa and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Prince Ayodele Adeniran (Omoba) after their induction ceremony which took place on Saturday at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo.
“As a sociocultural group in Ibadan, we expressed our heartfelt joy on this year’s festive celebration which has always been a merry celebration of both Christmas and New Year.
“We pray for grace and blessings from the Most High, that the glory of this festive season will continue to shine brightest in our lives.”
The Royal Group also mourn with victims and families of those who lost their lives at the stampede that happened during the Ibadan Xmas funfair and the unfortunate fire outbreak at Araromi Sparepart Inferno.
“We want to use this medium to also commiserate with the families of the victims of the Ibadan xmas funfair that resulted into a stampede that caused the loss of lives of many children and left many adults injured.
“Also, with the victims of the Araromi Sparepart Inferno at Agodi Gate that saw many goods and properties worth billions lost to the terrible fire outbreak.
“We pray for the repose of the lost lives and that such incidents will not befall us again. We also call on all stakeholders, security agencies and community leaders to brase up against future occurrence.”
