Yobe: SEMA Donates 8 Bunk Beds, 100 Mattresses to Girls College Dapchi Over Near Excellent WAEC Result

Yobe State Emergency Management Agency has donated eighty bunk beds and one hundred mattresses to students of the government girls science technical college Dapchi as fourteen girls scored A1 in mathematics and other subjects in 2023 WAEC.

Other support to the students and teachers includes payment of the JAMB fee to twenty-one students who scored nine credits and a food basket to twenty-one SS3 teachers including examination officers.

The executive secretary of SEMA Dr Mohammed Goje who presented the items to the executive secretary, of the science and technical education board Dr, Dauda Atiyaye for onward delivery to the beneficiaries noted that the intervention was aimed at encouraging students and teachers their resilience and commitment to education in conflict-affected areas.

SEMA in collaboration with development partners supports schools and schools in communities affected by conflict to boost enrollment, encourages girl child education and motivates teachers for enhanced productivity.

Dapchi, the headquarters of the Bursari local government area in Yobe made global headlines when in February 2019, insurgents abducted many girls from government girls’ science and technical college before their subsequent release.
