You Deceive Yourself if You Go to Court Over Coronation – Seyi Makinde

The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde was in attendance at the Mapo Hall to place the baton of authority to the 10 High Chiefs of Ibadan present and they have since been promoted to the position of Kings in their various provinces in Ibadan.

However, the former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adewolu Rasheed Ladoja did not attend the coronation. It was earlier reported that he will not be in attendance for the ceremony.

The Olubadan urged the new Kings to use their position well for the development of the region while placing the crown on their heads, before the governor also handed over the scepters to the new Kings. Olubadan then informed them that being Kings will not bring much to alter the process of becoming Olubadan of Ibadan.

Among the newly promoted Kings include:

Balogun of the city of Ibadan Owolabi Olakulehin;

Right Balogun, Tajudeen Ajibola;

Osi Olubadan, Eddy Oyewole;

Osi Balogun, Lateef Adebimpe;

Ashipa Olubadan, Biodun Kola-Daisi;

Ashipa Balogun, Kola Adegbola;

Ekerin Olubadan, Hamidu Ajibade;

Ekerin Balogun, Olubunmi Isioye;

Ekarun Olubadan; Bayo Akande

and Ekarun Balogun, Abiodun Azeez

Governor Makinde also established the law that is in the state’s jurisdiction, which gives the Governor the authority to sign the King’s nomination.

Makinde said that since ten of the eleven High Chiefs who were supposed to receive the crown were present at the ceremony, it showed that the whole town approved the ceremony and that anyone who still goes to court because of this process of gaining knowledge is deceiving himself.
