Adelabu, Power Minister Mourns Grand Mufti of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulfatai Alaga

Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Grand Mufti of Ibadanland, Sheikh AbudulFatai Muhali Alaga. Sheikh Alaga died on Tuesday at the age of 80 years.

In a condolence message he personally signed, the Minister described the passage as a colossal loss to the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State.

Adelabu said Sheikh Alaga lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by “all citizens including our political and community leaders”.

The Minister described the Grandi Mufti as a moral guide and pillar of support through his sermons and spiritual influence.

“It is with deep sense of sorrow that I received the news of the transition of the Grand Mufti of Ibadan land, Sheikh AbudulFatai Muhali Alaga.

“Our revered Alfa Agba and religious leader lived a noble and exemplary life that is worthy of emulation by all citizens including our political and community leaders. Through his countless sermons and spiritual influence, Baba was our guide and pillar of support.

“Though we will continue to mourn the passage of this spiritual icon, we are consoled by the beautiful memories and legacies he left us with, especially as a moral compass to the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State.

“As we continue to remember this illustrious community leader, I want to use this medium to express my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheikh Abdulganiyu Abubakr Agbotomokekere, the entire Muslim Ummah of Ibadanland and Oyo State.

“May the Almighty Allah grant his soul peaceful repose in Aljanah Firdaus”.
