Governor Babangana Umara Zulum on Monday distributed the last phase of palliative to people of the Mafoni Community in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council in the present round of food distribution targeting 300,000 beneficiaries across the state.
We will recall that Governor Zulum flagged off the fresh phase of palliatives last week Tuesday which is targeted at 300,000 households with about six persons per household to reach one million and eight hundred thousand (1.8m) persons in need.
The whole initiative is aimed at reducing the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal for the average of 300,000 most vulnerable families. Each eligible beneficiary receives N5,000 cash, a bag of rice, a bag of beans and one wrapper (for women).
