Nationwide Sensitization; NOA National Director Deepens Students’ Reorientation on National Values

As a major ingredient of National Orientation Agency’s comprehensive nationwide sensitization on moral rejuvenation to address the pervasive moral decline, the visiting  National Director of NOA in charge of Human Resources Management, Mrs Ayisola Olowoyo, who represented the Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu in Oyo state today, has raised  a critical concern on extraneous sign-out celebration amongst students.

Mrs Ayisola utilised her flying visit to  smoothen the ground for the forthcoming Agency’s press conference.

Mrs Olowoyo hit the ground running on her arrival by taking to the airwaves on Amuludun 99.1 FM, Moniya, to engage students and stakeholders on the importance of national values. The broadcast spotlighted the National Values Charter and the “7 for 7” reciprocal commitments between citizens and the government.

She dismayed the rise of extreme “sign-out” celebrations among students in primary, secondary, and tertiary schools across Oyo State, which, she noted, is getting out of hand.

Her words “Our children are the leaders of tomorrow, Every act, every decision, every choice they make today shapes the future of our society, hence they need   proper guidance and value re-orientation  as prerequisites to helping them grow into responsible, disciplined, and patriotic citizens.”

The National Deputy Director during the programme highlighted the dangers of excessive partying and its attendant  money lavishing and other abhorrent celebratory behaviours, emphasizing that such actions could compromise students’ moral and academic development.

According to her, “Ethical education must start early and be reinforced consistently across families, schools, and communities as a guard rail, preventing citizens from sliding into harmful or despicable conduct.”

Mrs. Olowoyo also emphasized the “7 for 7” framework, which outlines mutual commitments between citizens and the government to foster a harmonious, value-driven society. “The 7 for 7 is not just a policy. 1t is a roadmap for ethical conduct, civic responsibility, and national development.”

She emphasized that by embracing these commitments, our youths can learn accountability, integrity, and respect for themselves and others.” She stated.

Mrs Olowoyo also gave kudos to the media as a vital instrument for entrenching moral and civic education.

The media engagement, the release added, is part of NOA Oyo State’s ongoing strategy to leverage media platforms to raise awareness on civic responsibilities, ethical behaviour, and national values and by directly engaging
students, educators, and parents, NOA aims to nurture a generation that is not only academically competent but also ethically grounded and socially responsible.

Mrs Olowoyo concluded with a call to action advising parents, teachers, and communities stakeholders to work in unison in order to guide our teeming youths, protect their potentials, and ensure they grow to become leaders who will make Nigeria proud.”

Accompanying the National Director to the studio were Deputy Director HRM Abuja Mr Tope Adewumi, Oyo State  NOA’s Deputy Director on Community  Safety Awareness and Compliance, Miss Abidemi Adewale and Media and Communication Officer, Miss Olaosebikan Oyindamola.
