The Nigeria Labour Congress paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, to commend the remarkable advancements in Nigeria’s electricity sector, achieved under his exemplary leadership.
Representatives of the NLC and organised labour noted that the owner sector is becoming increasingly dependable, emphasising that electricity supply has significantly improved under his leadership, something which many before him have failed to achieve.
The Honourable Minister’s introduction of enhanced generation capacity has delivered longer and more reliable supply hours in vital industrial and urban areas, alleviating burdens on workers and diminishing the need for expensive alternatives like diesel and petrol generators.
In their courtesy visit, members of the NLC wholeheartedly applauded the decentralisation of the power sector, which empowered states to independently generate, transmit, and distribute electricity. Stating that this visionary reform resonates deeply with labour’s enduring calls for innovative structural changes that promote efficiency, generate employment opportunities, and ensure greater accountability in public services.
