Oyo: Adebayo Adelabu Pleas for Unity, Urges APC Leaders to Avoid Multiple Delegate List, Imposition Ahead of Congress

The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has called for a genuine reconciliation process for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State ahead of the upcoming party congress and primary election while urging members to cancel all misgivings, bridge internal democracy and avoid multiple delegate list across all level of executives in the state to avoid future misunderstanding.

Chief Adelabu made this assertion on Saturday when he paid a consultation visit to the APC leaders in Ibadan Inner City comprising Ibadan North, Ibadan SouthWest, Ibadan SouthEast, Ibadan NorthEast and Ibadan NorthWest where he urged party leaders and stakeholders to make peace and work towards promoting the party to electoral victory come 2027. He also reminded all members to avoid any form of imposition during the upcoming party congress and primary election.

“I’m urging all leaders and stakeholders of Oyo APC to make peace and work towards a genuine reconciliation process for the party ahead of the upcoming congress and primary election. Let’s unite and plead with all members to bridge internal democracy and stay off multiple delegate lists across wards, local government and state level to avoid future misunderstanding.

“More importantly, we must avoid any form of imposition ahead of the 2027 general election which may birth intra party discord if not well managed.” Adelabu stated.

Chief Adelabu in his message to the party leaders emphasised the need to wrestle power from the present government in Oyo State who has brought little or no meaningful development to the state with few infrastructural projects to his name amid the huge federal allocation from the federal government. He also described him as a status quo governor who lacks transformational policies and should not be allowed to install a successor in the state.

Chief Adelabu also praised President Tinubu for his bold economic policies and reforms that has helped to reduce corruption and revamp the economy of the country. He added that things may be hard for now but Tinubu has good plans for the country and his reforms are beginning to materialise as prices of foods and commodities have begun to come down.

The Minister of Power also harped on his political journey from 2019 and how internal wrangling has brought about electoral losses. He thereafter confirmed his interest to recontest ahead of the 2027 Oyo gubernatorial election.
