APC Pioneer Group lauds and support Adelabu’s Nomination For Ministerial SlotAll Progressives Congress Pioneer Group, the vanguard group within APC Oyo State which stands for democratic values, good governance and dividends of democracy has lauded the purported nomination of Chief Adebayo AbdulWaheed Adelabu, a former CBN Deputy Governor and the 2019 APC Governoship flagbearer for Oyo State as ministerial nominee from Oyo State. It is the same group that started the political support and mobilization for President Bola Tinubu candidacy for APC in Oyo State when the minions in the party joined forces with the presidency cabal towards fostering other candidates, including the former Vice President Yemi Osinajo on the party.
According to the group, “It is a right decision to correct the wrongs mettle on him in the run to the 2023 APC Governorship primary election in Oyo State and he’s a round peg in a round hole”.
The general acceptability of his choice heralded the jubilation of all the core progressive leaders, youths and members within APC Oyo State when the news broke out. The good people of Oyo State, irrespective of their party affiliations have expressed their solidarity for his choice because they see it as an opportunity for him to continue his good works of uplifting the people of the State. And no doubt his choice will bring back the lost glory of the party in the State.
The group in their statement made available to our correspondent stated that, they were made to suffer ridicules and disgrace for the sake of the party from the hands of shenanigans who hijacked the party. This led to Adelabu to step aside for a while to pursue his mandate of delivering the people of Oyo State else where. More disgraceful to APC is that Mr Teslim Folarin, the APC candidate was defeated in over 30 LG across Oyo State with wide margin, a disastrous historical performance that has never been heard of the party in Oyo State.
Further, the group expressed their appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his eyes for quality and men of character and capacity to help him achieve his renewed hope mandate for the country in which Bayo Adelabu has been speculated to be one. Also, his choice will be a signal to the naysayers that the strong father-and-son relationship between the President and Bayo Adelabu is not breakable.
“It is pertinent to bring to your notice as reminder how anti-democratic forces within National APC in the dark era of Gov., Mai Mala Buni Caretaker leadership of APC with impunities and democratic attributes alien in nigerian democratic culture almost truncated your Presidential aspiration to seeked for ticket of our APC platform , any individual or group that, publicly identified with you ( Tinubu), was marked down and Mr Bayo Adelabu was one of such political-victims”, APC Pioneer Group stated. The Buni Caretaker in conjunction with the unscrupulous accidental members of Oyo State APC ratified a birthday party congress in Ibadan that where members of Teslim Folarin Campaign Organisation organised a kangaroo congress against the will of the majority of the critical stakeholders of Oyo State APC. Today, the rest is history.”, they further stated.
Mr Bayo Adelabu’s contribution and others, despite in their make-shift political platform for the 2023 guber elections were resolute and committed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory, evident with over 200,000 votes for the President while the APC Governorship candidate lost gallantly.
Bayo Adelabu’s political values and intellectual prowess is unmatched. He polled over 350,000 votes in the 2019 electoral contest against amalgamation of all parties who coalesce against him. This is incomparable with the unpopular APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 election that, was mercilessly trounced in all the 32 LGs in Oyo State, even in his ward and LG in Ona Ara.
We have no iota of doubt and we are strongly convinced that Your Excellency, President Bola Tinubu will appoint Mr Bayo Adelabu who became CBN Deputy Governor at the age of 43 years as one of your Ministers in your quest to give Nigerians democratic deliverables as promised as a renewed hope. He is the best among the rest from Oyo State.
