Oyo: Deputy Senate President, Barau Appoints Ajimobi as Adviser

Idris Ajimobi, the son of late Gov Abiola Ajimobi, the former governor of Oyo State, has been appointed as the Special Adviser (Special Duties) to the deputy Senate President, Sen. Jibrin Barau.

Sen. Jibrin Barau, we understand at News247naija, is a core loyalist to Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State and father in-law to Idris Ajimobi.

Barau also appointed Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdullahi as Chief of Staff; Professor Bashir Muhammad Fagge, Special Adviser (Policy & Monitoring), and the Deputy General Editor of Daily Trust Newspapers, Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser (Media & Publicity).

We will recall that Idris Ajimobi was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the State Assembly election in Ibadan South West State Constituency 2. He, however lost the election to the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) candidate.

In a statement by his media office, Barau also named Yusuf Aliyu Tumfafi, Special Adviser (Political); Mrs. Ngozi Ndawi Nkemdirim, a pioneer staff of the National Assembly, Special Adviser (Administration); and Shitu Madaki Kunchi, Special Assistant (Media & Publicity).
