Oyo: Tinubu Approved Request to Upgrade Ibadan Airport to Int’l Standard – Makinde

The Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has
confirmed that, President Bola Hammed
Tinubu has approved his request to turn the Ibadan local airport to international airport.

“Finally, since I came into office, this
administration has focused on education,
agriculture, health and expansion of our
economy. We have been talking to the
Presidency and we got response from them early this week that the President has graciously approved my request for Ibadan Airport to be upgraded. I will be in Abuja soon to get the document relating to the approval. And within three weeks, we will start the project. We will expand the runway, build a new terminal.”

Ibadan Airport (IATA: IBA, ICAO: DNIB) is an airport serving Ibadan, the capital of the Oyo State of Nigeria. It was commissioned by Joseph Wayas, a former senate president of Nigeria, in June 1982.
