Detained Binance Executive Files Lawsuit Against NSA Ribadu, EFCC for Human Right Infringement

Tigran Gambaryan, the Binance executive currently in detention, has filed a lawsuit against the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for purportedly infringing upon his fundamental rights.

Gambaryan and Anjarwalla filed lawsuits labeled as FHC/ABJ/CS/356/24 and FHC/ABJ/CS/355/24 against the Office of NSA (ONSA) and EFCC as the first and second respondents, respectively.

Gambaryan, a US citizen in charge of financial crime compliance at the crypto exchange platform, applied for a declaration that his detention and seizure of his international travel passport were in violation of Section 35 (1) and (4) of the 1999 Constitution (As Amended). They were both seeking similar remedies.

He expressed that the action infringed upon his inherent right to personal freedom as protected by the constitution.

He additionally requested a directive instructing the individuals in charge to set him free from their supervision without delay and give back his international travel passport promptly.
