Niger: Gov Bago Awards Contracts for Purchase 200 Buses, Invites Investors to Establish CNG Plants

Niger State Government, in her foresight, intends to improve the quality of transport in the state. This was registered with the news of how the Niger State Government is set to Purchase 200 CNG buses and invites investors to establish CNG plants in the State.

The state governor, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, has, of course, set a strong footing in achieving this milestone by formally entering into a contract with four companies: Topdesk International, Nationwide Unity Transport Limited, Afrobase Services Limited, and Musako Motors and Transportation Nigeria Limited to procure 200 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses. This development suggests a visionary approach to address the pressing transportation needs of the state.

The contract was signed by Hajiya Hadiza Idris Kuta, the State Commisioner of Transport and representatives of the four companies in Government House, Minna.

Residents of the state will breathe a sigh of relief as the CNG buses present multi-fold benefits, including free transportation services to students at all levels, from primary to tertiary education. This gesture will alleviate the financial burden on both parents and students while civil servants will receive transport services at a very subsidized rate

Out of the procured busses, 100 buses will be dedicated to the Suleja/Abuja route, while the rest operate both Intra and Interstate.
