Tribute: Akeem Agbaje Mourns Gov Akeredolu, Says He was a Humane Leader

Barrister Akeem Agbaje, one of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Oyo State has shared his condolence message to mourn the untimely demise of governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.

In his message, Barrister Agbaje described Governor Akeredolu as a bold and courageous lawyer, yet a kind and caring man who combines professionalism with humanity, and also his rich leadership tenets both in his professional field and governance.

“A really good man has died. I grew up knowing him as a bold and courageous lawyer. Beyond the bold and fearless mien was a man with a kind and caring heart who took issues of fairness to others as a personal struggle which he fought to win. Aketi meant different things to different people, but everyone agreed he was a leader in every sense, a different kind of leader. To me, he was a man who combined professionalism with humanity. Through dint of hard work and dogged determination, he rose to leadership in both his professional field and governance.” Akeredolu said.

Barrister Akeredolu emphasised how huge a loss Gov Akeredolu will be to the entire legal profession, the people of Ondo state and Nigeria as a whole. He also described his invaluable effort in setting up the Amotekun corps which has formed a network of security system for the entire South-West Nigeria.

“The death of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is a huge and painful loss to the legal profession, the people of Ondo State, Nigeria and Yorubaland.

“Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu was a leader with a difference. A man that distinguished himself in the legal profession as a learned silk and made his impact in the public sector as a governor. He was my very learned and revered senior and egbon. As governor, he championed the cause of the South-West integration fearlessly and his role in the establishment of the Amotekun corps cannot be understated. Indeed, Governor Akeredolu was committed and dedicated to championing the cause of the downthroden and bettering the lots of the good people of Ondo State.” Agbaje said

“I must say that Nigeria has lost a gem and the South West has lost an illustrious son. His death is a huge blow to the progressive fold and our great party, the All Progressives Congress. It is my prayer that his soul will find peaceful rest and Almighty Allah will comfort his family, friends and associates.” Barrister Agbaje concluded.
