Alerts to the Nigerian public have been issued by NAFDAC regarding the discovery of counterfeit Paracetamol injections.
The findings were uncovered during a thorough monitoring operation carried out by the post-marketing surveillance (PMS) team of the Agency in FCT, Abuja.
After conducting a thorough laboratory analysis of the counterfeit product, NAFDAC Laboratory in Kaduna verified that the product solely contained paracetamol. This finding contradicts the product’s labeled composition as an Aminoglycoside Antibacterial.
Aminoglycosides, a type of antibiotics, are commonly employed to target difficult bacterial infections.
