Oyo: Ladoja Withdraws Suit Filed Against Olubadan-in-Council, As Olakulehin Prepares for Enthronement

The Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, has withdrawn the suit he filed against members of the Olubadan-in-Council.

Ladoja had while hosting family compound heads (Mogajis) in Ibadan land last week, said he was compelled to go to court when the crown-wearing high chiefs and kingmakers threatened not to appoint him Olubadan when his turn to become monarch comes.

He stated that while he was not favourably disposed to desperation by any means, he did not like to treat threats from any quarters with kid gloves.

However, one of Ladoja’s aides, Adeola Oloko, disclosed to newsmen on Tuesday that the former governor will withdraw the suit on Wednesday.

Oloko stated that Ladoja’s counsel will approach the court on Wednesday for enrollment order after which the defendants will be served with the case withdrawal notice.

“Baba has withdrawn the case filed against the Olubadan in Council from the court.

“This will facilitate the enthronement of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“Ladoja has lived up to his promise to the people of Ibadanland to withdraw the case from the court.

“There is no longer any delay from his end. What is next now is for Governor, Seyi Makinde to approve the nomination of Oba Olakulehin as the next Olubadan,” he said
