It’s now obvious the type of leader that rule our political space in Ibadan particularly, to say some feather their own nest of their vested interests only and care less about subordinates. Whilst it can’t be argued that we also have transformative leaders in the hilly city in a large quantity, we still have leaders who never wish their subordinates well so that the latter will not outshine and may later sideswipe them into a corner politically.

When a leader feels insecured, he hides the feeling in an open glare where the majority can easily see what’s amiss. Such a leader is implacable even if you do all to please and wear him or her the toga of superiority, there is tendency the person still want to whip you into size to rub his or her ego.

It will be recalled that when HON Abass Adigun Agboworin who is Representing Ibadan South East and North East in the Federal House of Representatives, entered Mapo Hill the venue of the flag presentation to the PDP candidates in the just concluded local governments elections, a certain party leader from the same local government could not contain the rising ovation accorded the Federal Rep member by the constituents people whose life he has positively impacted and the goose pimples sprang out of the leader’s body as a matter of jealousy .

On entering the podium, Hon Abass Agboworin walked straight down to greet the leader cap in hands, but he was sent to the Coventry in the process.

Tongues have been wagging ever since to unravel the leader’s spiteful action and an elder among the leaders in the South East offered a solution. “Don’t you know that a leader always feels superior and will want every shine to redound to him? The elderly one asks.

The Man further pontificates that first law of power is never to outshine a leader. Always give him the impression that he is smarter and more popular. And he will beam a fatuous smile. The elderly one concludes.
