The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, have affirmed readiness to ensure that the next West Africa Universities Games (WAUG) is successful and hitch free, even as they have set necessary machinery in motion to give a face lift to sporting facilities in the University.
The University is billed to host the 2023 edition of the WAUG, which starts on Friday, the 16th December, 2023 will have Universities from across West Africa sub region competing for medals in sports like Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball and Athletics.
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, will be the special guest of honour
for the opening and the closing of the games.
The grand finale will be on Friday, the 22nd of December, 2023.
